There he learned how to reach people of different cultures and backgrounds as he coordinated sales & marketing in over 44 countries. As an entrepreneur for the past 15 years, he has a business that specializes in web design, small business consulting, and mobile app development. He spends most of his time running TOUCH, a local non-profit serving inner city communities of Tulsa through federally funded after-school programs. Having grown up in the projects of Englewood, California, KJ is especially passionate about pouring into and inspiring students from inner city communities.

  • Becoming The Asset: What does it mean to be workplace literate? Every company searches for an employee that stands out from the crowd. The one who has the appropriate competencies relating to their occupation that not only will benefit the company, but also create opportunity for the employee to grow. We will explore what it takes to be the asset that employers are looking for. Your audience will walk away with a greater understanding of why literacy is crucial in the present day workplace. Employers are searching those who can keep up with rapidly changing technology and organizational changes. Do you have what it takes? Let's get workplace literate!
  • The Highest Honor: There are those who serve in the spotlight and those who serve behind the scenes. My heart is not visible, and yet it is vital for my life. My lungs are protected and hidden, and yet if they become distressed, my whole body is aware. The same is true in the workforce. Many times there are tasks to be completed, jobs that need to be done, and work that someone needs to do. When we begin to see how small functions effect the big picture, we begin to understand that the highest honor comes in serving a vision for the greater good. Our students are our greatest asset. Through stories and illustrations, this presentation will focus on inspiring the listeners to be passionate about how their roles contributes to the District's vision; be aware of how their jobs effect students everyday; be encouraged by the realization that they are a part of something bigger than just the district in which they serve.
